Secessionist Designed Vase, Art Nouveau, Jugendstil, beautiful patina, minor dents
The maker's mark indicates this was made between 1902 and 1907.
The design has been inspired by both floral French Art Nouveau, German Jugenstil, and by linear Art Deco.
It was the secessionist's aim, through its use of the methods of mass production, to make artistically designed, contemporary Jugenstil objects of daily use (such as candlesticks, ashtrays, lamps, beakers, vases, planters, jardinieres. tea, and coffee sets) accessible to a broad selection of the public.
This is a biscuit barrel or cookie jar measuring 13 cms or 5 1/8 inches across and is 24.5cm high to the top of the handle or 9 5/8th inches
This was made in the first half of the 20th century as a decorative item and is lightly polished. There are some signs of use and wear and a small dent in the rim. The interior has signs of use and wear and is marked. It is quite a substantial piece but is not heavy. The brass decoration is firmly fixed.
It weighs 436 grams, 15.4 ozs, and will be posted well wrapped and via our tracked and insured parcel post.

Our lighting all works unless otherwise stated. All electrical items need to be checked by a local electrician to ensure compatibility with local electrical standards.
The bulb fittings are compatable with 240V electrical supply which covers most of the world.
See:
http://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plug-voltage-by-country/
If you live in a country that has 110V electrical supply all you need to do to convert the lights is ask an electrician to replace the bulb holders when he is fitting the lights. All the wiring is suitable for world wide use. It's that simple!
