Sweet little French classical transfer printed decorative plate. The edge is nibbled it has a crazed and worn surface and wear on the foot. There are surface scratches, patches of discolouration on the reverse and on the face. It has marked crazing on the surface both on the face and on the reverse. There are two tiny chips on the rim.
The subject is 'Paul before his trip to Virginia'. It is primitive and charming in style. This is a lovely old plate that is a real antique.
The Choisy-le-Roi faience factory of Choisy-le-Roi, southwest of Paris, France produced majolica from 1860 until 1910. The common mark is usually a black ink stamped "Choisy-le-Roi" pictured to the right with the large "B". The "HB" stands for Hippolyte Boulenger a director at the pottery. The factory's work was some of the most delicate produced in France.
This is early 19th century and is decorated in a primitive style with the patina you would expect from an antique piece.
It is stamped Choisy and P&L stamped into the back.
It measures 21 cm about 8 1/4 inches and weighs 260 grams just over 1/2 a pound.
It will be securely wrapped in bubble wrap to outwit the postman, insured and posted via signed for parcel post. Should the worst happen we will replace or refund, buy with confidence from Antique French Vintage.

Our lighting all works unless otherwise stated. All electrical items need to be checked by a local electrician to ensure compatibility with local electrical standards.
The bulb fittings are compatable with 240V electrical supply which covers most of the world.
See:
http://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plug-voltage-by-country/
If you live in a country that has 110V electrical supply all you need to do to convert the lights is ask an electrician to replace the bulb holders when he is fitting the lights. All the wiring is suitable for world wide use. It's that simple!
