Poet Laval is an area of southern France in the Provence region and is famous for beautiful and useful ceramics.
This is Poet Laval's Angelus, saying the Angelus prayers, in this case for a good harvest - this is a very potent symbol in France and all catholic countries, especially Ireland where the Angelus is broadcasted every day on television.
These pitchers or jugs were used mainly for decoration but also for holding water. This is a lovely addition to a celebratory table, for any religious event - Christening or Confirmation or indeed for a devout family - you could just love the Jean Francoise Millet painting too where this design has been taken from.
This would look lovely as a centre piece on any summer's table holding water or lemonade on your buffet table.
There is a tiny loss of pigment on the spout, there is a small manufacturing indentation on the rim but no cracks, chips or damage. It sits beautifully especially in the sunshine. There is crazing in the glaze, darker spots and signs of age.
It weighs 759 grams about 1lb 10 ozs and stands 16.5 cm high about 6 1/2 inches and is, from spout to handle, 20 cm or 8 inches.
This pitcher or jug will be securely wrapped and sent via our insured and tracked parcel post.

Our lighting all works unless otherwise stated. All electrical items need to be checked by a local electrician to ensure compatibility with local electrical standards.
The bulb fittings are compatable with 240V electrical supply which covers most of the world.
See:
http://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plug-voltage-by-country/
If you live in a country that has 110V electrical supply all you need to do to convert the lights is ask an electrician to replace the bulb holders when he is fitting the lights. All the wiring is suitable for world wide use. It's that simple!
