Beautiful wine, vinegar decanter or carafe for oil, spirits or cordials. It dates for the Belle Epoch in France translated to the late Victorian to Edwardian era in the UK and the 'Gilded Age' coined by Mark Twain in the USA.
This beautiful glass flask or decanter weighs 325 grams over 11.4 ozs
The diameter is 8.5 cm or 3 3/8th inches
The height is 24 cm or 9 1/2 inches
It has been hand blown, there is a pontil mark and hand engraved on the body, it is in lovely condition. There is a small chip on the edge of the stopper. It is a piece of French social history.
When a citizen wanted to have some wine with his dinner he would go to the Epicerie (or grocers) and fill his decanter up from a barrel in the shop filled with local wine, then pay the épicier (grocer) what he owed.
The engraving on the body reads
"Epicerie Cirot, Fontenay"
It has surface scratches on the base, it has no chips, bruises or damage on the body.
We will of course, wrap carefully using bubble wrap, packing peanuts and double box. We will send this fully insured and tracked.

If you live in a country that has 110V electrical supply all you need to do to convert the lights is ask an electrician to replace the bulb holders when he is fitting the lights. All the wiring is suitable for world wide use. It's that simple!
