Poet Laval is an area of southern France in the Provence region and is famous for beautiful and useful ceramics. This is the Maryse Pattern and is a beautiful example. This is a collectors item and has the original sticker on the side and is marked Maryse, P.L., and France.
These pitchers or jugs were used mainly for decoration but also for holding water and are sometimes known as 'Absinthe' pitchers as the very potent aniseed aperatif has ice, sugar and water in it.
This would look lovely as a centre piece on any summer's table holding water or lemonade.
There are no cracks or chips and it sits beautifully especially in the sunshine. There is minimal crazing in the glaze and signs of age.
It weighs 640 grams kilos 1lb 6 oz stands 24 cm high about 9.5 inches.

If you live in a country that has 110V electrical supply all you need to do to convert the lights is ask an electrician to replace the bulb holders when he is fitting the lights. All the wiring is suitable for world wide use. It's that simple!
