Bordeaux Early French Faience China Porcelain Ceramic Platter Transfer Printed Plate 19thC Blue and White Fully Marked Early Johnstone RARE
These are beautiful examples and are in excellent condition. French faience plates from the Bordeaux factory. This factory closed in 1895.
In 1845, David Johnston opens a pottery in Bacalan where at at it's height 700 people work. He imports fuel and raw materials from England. The production becomes industrial, with printed designs in varied colors and patterns and with wavy edges.
In 1845 Jules Vieillard succeeds David Johnston.
This is fully marked and stamped David Johnstone Bordeauz importation Anglaise and impressed mark of David Johnstone Bordeaux. This is a real piece of ceramic history in good condition. This is incredibly rare.
There are some glaze losses on the rim and some signs of age and wear, there is some discolouration in the glaze, there are no chips or cracks, it is in very good condition for their age.
It is 37.5 cm long or 14 3/4 inches and 30cm or 11 3/4 inches wide, it weights 1.27 kilos or 2lbs 12.9 ozs.

If you live in a country that has 110V electrical supply all you need to do to convert the lights is ask an electrician to replace the bulb holders when he is fitting the lights. All the wiring is suitable for world wide use. It's that simple!
