"The company founded in 1845 by E. Tonnelier was acquired in 1882 by Louis Ravinet (1854-1925). In 1891, Charles d’Enfert (1865-1960) entered into a partnership with Louis Ravinet and the company took the denomination of Ravinet d’Enfert. Ravinet d’Enfert has been located in Paris for more than a century at the Hotel de Caumartin, 83 rue du Temple in the « Marais ».
The company was specialized in production of silver forks and spoons and silverware in general. For silverplated items, nickel silver models were manufactured in the Mouroux factory (Seine et Marne) created in 1895 by Louis Ravinet.
In 1923, Louis Ravinet and Charles d’Enfert transferred to their sons André Ravinet (1889-1971) and Jacques d’Enfert (1900-1982) the company management.
The firm participated on a regular basis in exhibitions and received high rewards: gold medals at the Lyon Universal Exhibition in 1894 and Brussels in 1897. Ravinet d’Enfert was exhibiting in the International exhibitions of 1900, 1925 and 1937, and obtained a silver medal in Brussels in 1958.

In the 70’s a new generation took over the management of the company : Claude Ravinet, Jean-Claude d’Enfert (1925-1976) and Bruno d’Enfert.

In 1970, Ravinet d’Enfert produced « Lignes Actuelles » designed by Bruno d’Enfert: it is a set of silverplated cutlery, dishes and table accessories. Roger Tallon contributed to the company’s models in designing “Système 3T” (cf links to other sites). In 1971 Bruno d’Enfert designed the tea and coffee service as well as the candlesticks and the table heater which are today at the Arts décoratifs Museum in Bordeaux.
Ravinet d’Enfert discontinued its activity in 1984 and some cutlery models were taken over by Produx Saint-Hilaire."
