Lovely antique candlestick in the Louis XVI neo classical style, it is made of a heavy white metal with a silver plate covering, it is fully marked for N. Cailar Bayard et Cie.
Noel Cailar and Pierre Bayard formed the company in 1848 and closed in 1934.
It is antique and has real quality. This is an incredibly rare and beautiful design.
There are some surface scratches and some marks in the surface but in other respects it is in wonderful antique condition. It is incredible quality and shines beautifully in it's own candle light.
It weighs 275 grams 9.7 ozs so it is substantial. It measures 11.5 cm across about 4 1/2 inches and it is 6.3 cm high 2 1/2 inches.
It has been lightly polished to a great shine and still retains the beautiful patina of a classic true antique.
