This type of bread board traditionally used for serving bread on a big farmhouse table.
It is a beautiful wooden plate that has a really special patina and beautifully hand made and carved, it was the centre of a French families' farmhouse table passed from person to person everyday for many years. This was hung on a wall and has the string on the back.
It is a solid piece of wood that has been carved and varnished. There is some wear on the rims and on the surface especially on the middle of the board, it is in excellent condition and could be used again today.
This is an artisan French piece made by a member of a family for that family, a real piece of French social history.
It's a lovely, large, substantial bread plate for a French Bread Stick or Loaf or as an amazing centre piece on a table or counter top.
