French Faience Bordeaux Porcelain Ceramic Blue and White J Vieillard Blue and White Pattern Dishes 1835-1844

These are beautiful examples, although with some wear, of a David Johnstone and Jules Vieillard French faience pair of bowls from the Bordeaux factory. This factory closed in 1895.

There is wear on the rims of these Plates/dishes. The foot is worn, there is blue bleeding on the reverse of one. They are clearly marked with both Johnstone and Vieillard. There are no cracks.

They are in incredible condition for their age.

This is a real piece of ceramic history.

Jules Vieillard succeeds to lead the Bordeaux factory in 1845 from David Johnstone so this plate dates from early 1835 to 1844 when they shared the name on their ceramics.

This is a rare pair of Willow pattern blue and white having both names on the back from the Bordeaux factory started by David Johnstone and then succeeded by Jules Vieillard and his son. The factory closed for good in 1895.

They measure 23 cm across 9 inches, they are 4 cms or 1 1/2 inches high and weigh 1 lb 10zs or 737 grams.
