This pewter dish has a shield and crown decoration, beautifully made in the late 1800s.

The mark on the back is a crown and rosette (a European quality mark). The crowned rose was used on pewter from the mid 16th century to denote higher-quality metal. One is of Archangel Michael, holding a sword in one hand and a shield in the other, it has AC on the sides of the stamp.

These two marks are used by Arthur Chaumette Potier a Paris from 1887 onwards, reference Poincons d'Etain by Tardy.

It is 25.5cm or 10 inches long it is 18cm wide or 7 inches. It is 1.116 kilos or 2lbs 7.3 ozs

This is in used, worn condition with surface scratches, pitting and signs of age as you would expect from an antique item, it has been lightly polished.
